The new World Trade Center is under construction when I shot this downtown sunset from Amy & Aron's penthouse terrace in 2011.
Here's the whole length of 14th street, looking east from atop the High Line

Resting in a canon port at the Battery
Taken from aboard the Staten Island Ferry
I took this at Astor Place with my iPhone. What I really love about it is the symbolism of the old, historic stone NY building reflected and "shattered" in the facades of a new glass structure.
Hudson Yards is the biggest construction project in the history of NYC. A lot of it is being built on top of the railway yards for Penn Station. I took this from the High Line one summer evening.
I volunteer on the USS Intrepid at Pier 86 in Manhattan. There is also an NYPD Harbor Unit stationed on the ship. Here are two of their boats moored alongside.
This is the view of Manhattan from the Lincoln Tunnel helix. I think it's remarkable for three reasons: 1. I snapped the shutter from a moving NJ Transit bus, through the bus window (you can see some slight reflections in the sky), 2. I snapped it exactly as we crossed 34th Street - you can actually look across all of Manhattan and see Queens in the distance, and 3. I took this before the massive Hudson Yards construction took over mid-town west, now completely obscuring the Empire State Building from this vantage point.
One of my collection of views from through the bus window on the Lincoln Tunnel helix
I took this shot of the Manhattan skyline from Weehawkin, NJ. I was in the helix exiting the Lincoln Tunnel at the time. It was a cloudy night and I shot this through a dirty NJ Transit bus window, moving at about 30 mph, with my iPhone.
In the winter of 2017, the NYCTA put a few of these old restored buses from my childhood on the 42nd Street crosstown run.
Saw this old beauty parked in an alley between two old buildings in the Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan.
I shot this from the East River promenade in Manhattan, looking east toward Brooklyn
This was the site of a retail clothing store that recently failed on 42nd Street in Manhattan. They had apparently purchased the carriage of an old NYC MTA A Train as part of their decor. I wonder what's going to happen to it next?
Nice Fall morning after a rain, looking down at the reflections in a leaf-filled puddle in a sidewalk gutter on the lower East Side of Manahattan
Taken from the East River Promenade in Manhattan, as the sun was rising behind this iconic NYC water tower under construction on the Brooklyn waterfront.
Taken from Manhattan's East River promenade, this tug was heading up river in the morning sun while Brooklyn in the background was still encased in morning haze.
New York City icon. One of my favorite places to sit, people-watch and take pictures.
